JPART Continues Strong Scholarly Impact in Public Administration

The Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory (JPART), one of PMRA’s official scholarly journals, continues to demonstrate strong reach and influence in the field of public administration research.

According to the newly released 2025 Journal Citation Reports data, JPART received a Journal Impact Factor of 7.4 and remains in Q1 in the Public Administration category. The next highest Journal Impact Factor listed in the same category was 6.2.

This result reflects the continued visibility and citation of research published in JPART and the sustained work of the journal’s editors, authors, reviewers, and scholarly community.

Interpreting Journal Metrics with Care

PMRA recognizes that journal metrics, including impact factors, should be interpreted with caution. No single metric can fully capture the quality, originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, or long-term value of scholarly work.

For that reason, PMRA shares this update not as a stand-alone measure of journal quality, but as one indicator of JPART’s continued role in advancing public administration research and theory.
